With so many events happening in Boston for this summer, it was necessary to split this blog post into multiple parts. Let’s look at more of the top events happing this summer in Boston.

7th Annual Independence Bash

Held on July 3rd at 9pm, the Independence Bash will be happening at Ned Devine’s Irish Pub in Faneuil Hall. This event is hosted by Samuel Adams to toast the birthday of our country.

You’ll get to enjoy plenty of dancing with DJs spinning top hits and plenty of Samuel Adams beer including Boston Lager, Summer Ale, New England IPA, and Sam ’76. There will be giveaways and plenty more.

Boston Area Fireworks Shows

Fourth of July is celebrated all throughout the Boston area with several fireworks shows. You can enjoy fireworks at the following locations for the summer of 2019:

  • Boston – Charles River 10:30 p.m.
  • Burlington – Town Common 9 p.m.
  • Falmouth – the beach at dusk
  • Lowell – LeLacheur Park 9 p.m.
  • Marblehead – harbor 9:15 p.m.
  • Newton – Albemarle Field 9 p.m.
  • Plymouth – waterfront 9 p.m.
  • Salem – Derby Wharf 9:15 p.m.
  • Springfield – Riverfront Park 9:30 p.m.
  • Wakefield – Lake Quannapowitt 9:30 p.m.
  • Waltham – Leary Field 9:30 p.m.

All of these shows will be held on July 4th, and many others will be happening before and after Independence Day.

Boston JerkFest

If you love spicy food and fun, this is the festival for you. Held for the seventh year in a row, the Boston JerkFest will be happening on July 5th and 6th.

This event will feature two days of Caribbean food and fun with Jamaican Jerk spiced foods and more. It’s known as one of the top summer food festivals in the Boston area and it’s perfect for the entire family.

Enjoy craft vendors, live reggae music, a Jerk Cook-off, a Seafood Throwdown, the Kids & Culture Zone, and more. There are regular tickets and Wine & Brew tickets for this event. Find out more by visiting the official website here.

Chinatown Festival

The 15th annual China Town Festival will be held on July 7th from 10am to 6pm. This is a free event for all to enjoy and will be held at Chinatown Park on Beach Street in Boston.

The Chinatown Festival will include plenty of fun with martial arts and Asian dance. You will also get to enjoy vendor booths, Chinese Dough art, Chinese Opera, Lion Dances, and so much more. Find out all the details for this event by visiting their Facebook page here.

Magic 106.7 Family Film Festival

Movies will be held throughout the summer at the 106.7 Family Film Festival at the Prudential Center’s South Garden. This event will begin on July 7th and run through August 25th with weekly movies on Saturday nights at sundown.

Movies will include:

  • The Lion King
  • SING!
  • Coco
  • Wonder
  • The Incredibles
  • Mulan
  • Tarzan
  • A Wrinkle in Time

You can bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the move each week.

12th Annual Nantucket Comedy Festival

If you love to laugh, the Nantucket Comedy Festival may be the perfect choice for you. It will be held from July 11th to July 13th with several funny standup comics performing.

The event starts with the Love & Laughter kickoff event on July 11th at 7pm. It will be held at the Dreamland Main Theater.

The Stand Up & Learn event will be next, which is a kids’ comedy showdown. It will be held on July 12th at 5pm in the Dreamland Main Theater. The night will include the Legends of Comedy event at 7pm in the Dreamland Main Theater.

There will also be a private dinner event with the comedians, along with a Comedy SmACKdown event featuring Boston vs. New York.

Levitate Music & Arts Festival

Another great music festival featuring plenty of arts and crafts, the Levitate Music & Arts Festival will provide plenty of fun at the grounds of Marshfield Fair. This is a multi-day event running from July 12th to 14th with plenty of musical acts taking the stage.

The lineup for this year includes:

  • Stick Figure
  • Tedeschi Trucks Band
  • Damian “Jr.Gong” Marley
  • Soja
  • Ripe
  • The Wood Brothers
  • And Many More!
