Boston comes alive with events every summer. Whether you’ve been living in Boston for quite some time or you just relocated to Boston, there are several events you’ll want to attend this summer.

With so many great festivals throughout the summer, it can be hard to choose the right event for you and your family. Here’s a look at the top Boston Events for the summer of 2019.

June Events in Boston for 2019

Summer starts in June and there are plenty of great events coming to Boston this June. Some of the top choices are listed here.

Summer Solstice Celebration 2019

Kick off the summer with this free event held in Cambridge. The Summer Solstice Celebration event will include plenty of free fun at the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture. Enjoy free admission to all the museums including:

  • Harvard Museum of Natural History
  • Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments
  • Harvard Semitic Museum
  • Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology

In addition, you can make a summer flower crown, enjoy circus performers, dine at the many food trucks, and enter the Solstice raffle. The event will be held on June 21st and run from 5pm to 9pm. Admission and parking are both free.

Hanover Day

On June 22nd, Hanover Day will be held with plenty of fun to be had. The event will include plenty of music, food, and fun with the Juried Art Show, Road Race, and so much more.

The Juried Art Exhibit will run through July at The Frame Center and will be a huge part of Hanover Day. In addition, a 5K Road Race will be held the morning of Hanover Day at 9am. You can even enjoy the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at Hanover Day.

Plenty of vendors will be on hand with all kinds of things for sale. Over 100 booths will feature crafts, collectibles, handmade goods, and more. You can even enjoy the firework show!

Boston Art & Music Soul Festival

Also known as BamFest, the Boston Art & Music Soul Festival will be held from 12pm to 8pm on June 22nd. It will be held at the Franklin Park Playstead Field.

With 19 artists scheduled to perform on two stages, you won’t want to miss this summer event in Boston. Eric Roberson will headline the event with performances from all of the following:

  • Cliff Notez
  • Aleecya
  • The Tee-Tones
  • Dalaun
  • Cipherella
  • Samba Viva
  • Ashley Rose
  • American Symphony of Soul
  • And More!

Along with the musical performances, there will be live art and graffiti on display from 12pm to 5:30pm. Five artists will be displaying their work throughout the day.

There will even be a Beat Feet Zone with 60-minute dance lessons free of charge. You can also bring your own outdoor game and enjoy playing games with your family, friends, and neighbors. Several local vendors will be on hand, as well.

22nd Annual Taste of Allston

Another great event happening on Saturday, June 22nd is the Taste of Allston. This will be the 22nd year the event has been held, and it will happen in Allston, MA at Harvard Stadium from 12pm to 3pm.

The event will include many restaurants from Allston on hand providing samples. In addition to the food, there will be lawn games, music and plenty of fun.

Boston Guitarfest XIV

From June 24th to June 30th, you can enjoy the Boston Guaitarfest. This event is all about the guitar and provides several concerts, lessons, workshops, competitions, and more. There’s something for every age with workshops for beginners to advanced.

Concerts will include plenty of great choices, such as Eliot Fisk and Ricardo Gallen. Each day will bring a new concert, and you can find the entire concert schedule here.

Boston Harborfest

There’s no better way to enjoy the summer than the Boston Harborfest. It will be held from July 1st to 7th this year with plenty of fun for the entire family.

This event has been held for 38 years to celebrate maritime and revolutionary history in Boston. It’s one of the biggest Fourth of July festivals in the entire country.

Activities will start with the opening ceremony at Faneuil Hall and will include:

  • Freedom Trail Walks
  • Boat Tours
  • Historical Reenactment
  • Live Entertainment
  • And More!
