Found in Norfolk County, Brookline is a town in the Greater Boston area. It’s a suburb of Boston with six other neighborhoods bordering it including Fenway-Kenmore, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Brighton, and Alliston. The City of Newton also borders Brookline.

Brookline was first a hamlet in the 1600s before becoming incorporated in the early 1700s. It’s most-known as the birthplace of John F. Kennedy. The city is also home to seven historic districts with a total of 16 found on the national or state historic register and over 80 homes found on the national or state register.

Shopping is plentiful throughout Brookline with plenty of antique stores, bookstores, local boutiques, coffee shops and more. You’ll find a bit of everything here and most of the shopping is rather convenient. The Brookline Booksmith is one of the most well-known shops and it’s found in Coolidge Corner. It opened in 1961 and has been providing books ever since.

There are plenty of great places to teat throughout Brookline including Otto Pizza, Regal Beagle, and Paris Creperie. All three are found in Coolidge Corner, which is one of the best places in Brookline for shopping and dining. Along with these eateries, Brookline is also home to The Public House, The Abbey, Knight Moves, and Barcelona. All are found on Beacon Street and provide some of the best area restaurants to try.

The Coolidge Corner Theater is one of the most popular places for entertainment. It was originally a church back in 1906 but was turned into an Art Deco movie theater in 1933. Today, it’s still a movie theater and provides contemporary movies with plenty of programs bringing back older films. The theater does serve beer and wine, as well.
