Kyle Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Boston University (2004) and a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School (2008) were he graduated with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law. During law school Kyle was a member of the Patent Law Moot Court Team and the Treasurer and Service and Events Chair of Suffolk Law School’s chapter of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

Concentration/ Experience:
Kyle concentrates his practice in the representation of clients in a wide range of real estate related legal matters including the representation of buyers, sellers and lenders in connection with residential and commercial real estate transactions, condominium conversions and relief from local land use and zoning codes. In addition, Kyle’s practice also includes small business acquisition and formation, the negotiation of contracts and leases and the litigation of general real estate related matters. Kyle is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the United States Patent and Trade Mark Office.

Memberships and Affiliations:
Professionally, Kyle is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association and it’s Affordable Housing subcommittee and a Massachusetts licensed Certified Real Estate Instructor. Within his neighborhood of Jamaica Plain and the Greater Boston area, Kyle is an elected member of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council and its Zoning, Housing and Development and Forest Hills Subcommittees, a Real Estate Committee Member of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, founding member of his BNI chapter in Jamaica Plain, and a member of the Greater Jamaica Plain Community of Real Estate Professionals. Through his involvements, Kyle has had the honor and privilege to participate in several real estate and affordable housing policy groups including the Urban Land Institute Rose Center for Public Leadership Participant (a City of Boston led planning study of the Columbus and Washington Street Corridor in Jamaica Plain), the City of Boston’s Affordable Housing Acquisition and Conversion Work Group (designed to implement a program to acquire and create long term affordable housing) and a City of Boston led work group to modify Boston’s current Inclusionary Development Policy.

Family and interests:
Kyle, who was born in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, now lives in Jamaica Plain with his wife. Kyle and his wife regularly attend Park Street Church and both serve as fundraising committee members for Jamaica Plain’s Community Servings. Kyle enjoys teaching continuing education classes for Real Estate Agents and first time homebuyer courses for many local CHAPA organizations.
